The Income Tax Department's official downloads page lists the ITR-6 utility, version 1.0.1, with 16 October 2026 as its latest release date for Assessment Year 2026-27. The same page also lists an Excel-based utility for ITR-6, version 1.1, released on 15 October 2026.
ITR-6 applies to companies other than those claiming exemption under section 11. Tax professionals preparing company returns can check the portal's utility, validation files and schema information before generating or uploading returns.
This update reports availability of the utilities; it does not independently establish any extension of the ITR filing due date.
