AI Summary

This assureITR guide explains a source-first preparation workflow: import recognised current-year prefill, reuse appropriate earlier-year details, review automatic values and complete remaining information. It includes source-to-prefill mapping, single and bulk portal workflows, supported task-specific Excel imports, hosted team access, guided schedules, calculation, AIS/TIS review, computations and backups. It distinguishes mapped data from retained evidence and portal fetch from submission. The reviewed build has ITR-1 to ITR-6 engines, with fresh generation for AY 2026-27; normal ITR-3/5/6 output remains utility-test JSON requiring the described official-utility handoff and checks.

assureITR helps you begin an income-tax return with information already available: current-year portal prefill, previous-year stable master details, saved client records and supported source documents. You can then complete the remaining particulars in guided screens, review the live computation, follow specific correction requests and prepare professional reports and available JSON outputs.

Within assureOffice at assureoffice.in, the benefit extends across the office. Shared clients and documents reduce repeated entry between related workspaces. Excel onboarding helps set up several clients and years together. Bulk portal fetching helps collect current prefill and previous filed documents across a selected client list. Company and entity returns have their own working sections, while source hints and manual controls help the preparer understand and review imported values.

The complete return still brings together the correct client, assessment year, return form, financial figures, tax adjustments, credits, banks and verification particulars. A previous-year filed return, current-year prefill, AIS and financial statements each contribute differently. This guide shows how to use those contributions efficiently, with particular attention to ITR-6 and the supported ITR-1, ITR-2, ITR-3, ITR-4 and ITR-5 workflows.

1. Start with Existing Information, Complete the Balance and Review

The most useful way to work in assureITR is to reuse available information → complete the remaining details → review the finished working.

Begin with the client's available current-year prefill and earlier filed JSON. The recognised current-year information can populate supported fields, while eligible previous-year masters provide a starting point for recurring identity, address, auditor and entity details. The source table later in this guide explains exactly what each input contributes and what you still need to complete.

Then use the guided screens to finish the current year's financials, income, adjustments, claims and disclosures. You can inspect the source of a supported auto-filled field, retain your manual correction or deliberately accept an available alternative. Autosave keeps changes moving into the saved workspace, and the calculation refreshes as the working changes.

Finally, examine the computation, use Information required to reach pending fields, compare relevant AIS/TIS categories and inspect the available return-style PDF. This makes review a visible part of preparation instead of leaving all checks until the download stage.

The features work together:

  • Current-year portal prefill supplies recognised current facts without retyping every supported field.
  • Previous-year stable masters help carry recurring information into the new AY, with current-year review.
  • Source hints and manual control show where information came from and help resolve alternatives.
  • Guided entry, autosave and calculation connect everyday preparation with the resulting computation.
  • Company and entity sections organise ITR-6 and ITR-5 particulars in their own relevant structures.
  • Professional PDF/Word reports and available full-form PDFs support internal and client review.
  • Bulk onboarding and bulk portal fetch organise repeated work across a client list.

For example, a company preparer can import the current prefill, reuse available company/auditor masters from the previous AY, complete the current financial and tax schedules, and use review actions to reach the remaining information requests. The time saved depends on the quality and completeness of the source files, but the workflow keeps reused data, current-year entry and review connected.

2. Understand the Supported Forms and the Current Assessment Year

The current assureITR build has engines for ITR-1 through ITR-6. It evaluates the return form from the taxpayer's identity and relevant income and filing facts. Creating a Company, Firm or Trust client does not, by itself, settle every return-applicability question.

ReturnWorkspace and output position in this build
ITR-1Guided preparation, computation, review and conditional JSON generation.
ITR-2Guided preparation with relevant investment, disclosure and foreign-information sections; conditional JSON generation.
ITR-3Business/profession preparation, detailed guided financial sections and utility-test JSON after the required app checks.
ITR-4Presumptive-return preparation and conditional JSON generation, subject to the applicable facts and supported schedules.
ITR-5Entity-specific preparation, partner/member information, financial and tax schedules, and utility-test JSON after the required app checks.
ITR-6Company-specific preparation, company computation, financial and tax schedules, and utility-test JSON after the required app checks.
ITR-7Applicability may be identified, but the return engine is unavailable. Do not force the client into another form to bypass that result.

Fresh JSON generation in this build is enabled for AY 2026-27. Historical assessment years can be opened for viewing, correction, reference and carry-forward. Where a historical filed JSON is available, its download is a retrieval of that filed data, not fresh generation under a historical-year engine.

The bundled AY 2026-27 schemas are version 1.1 for ITR-1 through ITR-5 and version 1.0 for ITR-6. These identify this build's format support; they are not a claim that a future official utility or schema change has already been incorporated.

For ITR-3, ITR-5 and ITR-6, the generated output is expressly a utility-test JSON. Passing assureITR's checks does not mean that the official utility has accepted the exact file or that the return has been filed. This distinction is part of the normal workflow and is explained in the export section below.

3. Follow the Complete Working Sequence

A practical order for work in assureOffice is:

  1. Open or create the correct client.
  2. Select the assessment year and resolve return-form applicability.
  3. Import available documents into the shared Import Centre.
  4. Check document identity, assessment year, processing status and source conflicts.
  5. Review the current-year prefill and previous-year reference separately.
  6. Complete taxpayer or company particulars and current-year filing answers.
  7. Prepare income, financial, deduction, loss and tax-payment schedules.
  8. Reconcile AIS/TIS, financial results and tax credits.
  9. Complete bank and verification details.
  10. Resolve the Information required list and refresh review.
  11. Preview the computation and available full-form PDF.
  12. Generate the available JSON and complete the required official-utility checks.
  13. Complete filing through the applicable official process.
  14. Bring the actual acknowledgement and filed JSON back into assureITR.
  15. Save and retain a complete client backup.

You can move between sections while preparing the return. The sequence above reduces avoidable rework, particularly when several documents contain overlapping information.

4. Keep the Right Documents Ready

Start with the client's identity and contact particulars, PAN, constitution, relevant dates, address and bank details. Collect the current-year books or final financial statements, supporting income workings, tax-payment challans and any applicable audit information.

Useful import sources include current-year ITR prefill JSON, previous-year filed ITR JSON, AIS/TIS documents, Form 26AS, Form 16 or Form 16A, filed acknowledgement PDFs, supported Tax Audit JSON and available financial backups. Broker or fund transaction reports and foreign-asset working files can also support the relevant schedules.

Keep the assessment year visible in your document folder. A current-year return should not acquire last year's turnover, tax payments, audit acknowledgement or income merely because the earlier file was imported first.

For company work, also keep company identity, CIN, directors/key persons, shareholding, holding/subsidiary information, company-tax option records, financial statements and tax-adjustment workings ready. For ITR-5 entities, keep the correct entity sub-status and partner/member details ready.

5. Open assureITR with the Correct Access

Open assureOffice at assureoffice.in and enter the relevant organisation and client workspace. Depending on the navigation available in your deployment, open the client first and choose Income Tax Return, or choose Open ITR from the module selection screen.

The same suite can hold ITR, Tax Audit, Form 3CEB and shared client information. The module selection matters: uploading a financial or audit document does not make every module's work complete.

Access follows the organisation and client assignment. In the current team settings, the main admin grants a sub-user All clients or Selected clients access and controls Create Client and Delete Client separately. Normal work on allowed clients includes editing, importing, uploading, downloading and backup; the simplified screen does not offer a separate read-only or preparer/reviewer role switch. If an action is unavailable, check the account/client context and the action's own requirements before treating it as a processing error.

6. Work with Your Team in the Hosted Browser Workspace

The hosted assureOffice workspace lets colleagues use their own registered accounts to work on the same firm's saved client records. A preparer can save the ITR working, and another authorised colleague can open the same client and AY for review without exchanging a separate working-file copy for every handover.

Set up access through the current User Settings flow:

  1. The main admin opens User Settings from the top navigation. On a narrow screen, open the navigation menu first.
  2. Under Account details, check the name and organisation name; use Save details for changes.
  3. Under Manage sub-users, enter the team member's email. Multiple emails can be entered on separate lines or separated by commas; the same access selection applies to that submission.
  4. Set Client access to All clients or Selected clients. For selected access, tick the required client names/PANs.
  5. Set Create Client and Delete Client. The defaults are Create Client on and Delete Client off.
  6. Click Save sub-user access and check the resulting Awaiting registration, Pending acceptance or Active status.
  7. The colleague registers or logs in using the exact email entered by the admin, opens User Settings, finds Work as sub-user of [firm], and chooses Accept & work as sub-user after reviewing the confirmation.
  8. They return to All Clients, open an allowed client and choose the correct AY before starting the ITR work.

The assignment is to clients; the current User Settings screen does not provide a separate AY-by-AY selector or module-specific permission switches. Normal work access for the allowed clients includes read/write, import, upload, download and backup. The main admin can use Edit access, Remove access and the Activity Log of recorded actions.

Accepting the sub-user relationship binds that email's working account to the main firm's account. Independent client work needs a separate registration; there is no ordinary switch back to independent work in this flow. Existing data is preserved, and a sub-user cannot create another team under that same ID. Review this choice before accepting it.

You can continue saved work on another suitable device by signing in to the same hosted workspace and reopening the same client and assessment year. Save first on the original device, and refresh or reopen to load colleagues' saved changes. A desktop or laptop is practical for detailed return tables and Excel preparation. This is access to shared saved work, not a promise of simultaneous live co-editing, offline preparation or identical usability on every phone.

For an orderly handover, let one person finish and save the relevant working before the next person edits it. Use assureITR's own autosave and Save draft controls, and honour any newer-data conflict message. Other suite modules can have their own explicit Save or Apply actions.

Use Log Out when finished. Where the page supports the shared save action, logout tries to finish pending saves. If that fails, the choices include Retry Save, Log Out Without Saving and Stay Here. Resolve unsaved work deliberately; logging out of the current browser is not a claim that every other device has also been signed out.

7. Create a Client or Reuse the Existing Client

Search the client list before creating another record. PAN is the central link between the shared client and its assessment-year workspaces.

For manual creation:

  1. Click New Client.
  2. Choose the appropriate client type.
  3. Enter the client or entity name and available PAN.
  4. Enter the date of birth or formation as applicable.
  5. Add a file number if the office uses one.
  6. Select the initial assessment year.
  7. Click Create client.

The creation screen supports several constitutions, including Individual, HUF, Firm, LLP, Company, AOP, BOI, Trust, Society, Cooperative Society, Local Authority and Artificial Juridical Person. The list is a client-master facility; it should not be read as a promise that every constitution has an enabled final return engine.

A PAN-pending draft can be created, but the correct PAN must be resolved before a filing-quality return can be prepared. If you already have a suitable source JSON, use Create client from JSON → Open Import Centre instead of manually duplicating its identity details.

For a larger client list, Bulk Add Clients (Excel) provides a separate template, preview and apply workflow. Review the preview before applying it. Client onboarding creates the organised client base; it does not complete the clients' tax-return figures.

Use Client Master for shared client particulars, and review the intended save/application scope when updating them. Then recheck the active ITR's identity and contact information. A shared master update and an AY-specific return edit are distinct operations.

8. Choose the Assessment Year and Confirm the Applicable Return

Open the client and use Choose assessment year. One PAN can have several AY workspaces, each with its own return data. Use Add another assessment year or Add year when the required year is absent.

Check the AY displayed in the workspace header before importing or editing. The app detects document years where possible. A filed return belongs to its own detected assessment year; a prefill belongs to the year represented by that prefill.

assureITR evaluates the applicable return. Where facts are incomplete, the Complete ITR details screen asks for the missing information. Answer the questions and use Save details & continue. A form shown as To review should not be treated as a completed decision.

If a change is required, the Change applicable ITR flow offers options based on the client's current facts. The app creates a snapshot before an accepted form change. Resolve the underlying facts first, rather than selecting a preferred form solely because it has fewer questions.

For an ITR-7 result, arrange a suitable supported preparation route outside this workspace. The existence of a Trust or Society master does not enable ITR-7 generation.

9. Use the Import Centre as the Shared Document Entry Point

Open Import Centre from the client workspace or dashboard. Select the existing client, or use Create client from file where appropriate. Keep auto-detection enabled when the document clearly contains its AY; otherwise choose or confirm the year carefully.

Click Upload & Import, or drag supported files into the upload area. The picker accepts JSON, PDF, ZIP and supported Excel files. You can select multiple documents, but accepted file extensions do not mean every document layout can be converted into a complete return.

The workspace also has Import documents → Import document. This uses the same Import Centre flow and shared document store. It is convenient when you are already inside a return and receive another document from the client.

After processing, examine each result individually:

  • Detected PAN and AY.
  • Document type.
  • Whether a client/workspace was created or reused.
  • Imported, stored, review-required, partial or failed status.
  • The module to which the document was applied.
  • Any missing information, password request or client mismatch.

If the AY cannot be established, the app asks you to confirm it. If a PDF needs a password, use the password prompt. A file stored successfully can still require mapping or manual review before it affects the ITR.

10. Know What Each Imported Document Actually Does

The app can use a source to populate supported fields, suggest a value, compare the return or retain supporting evidence. Use the result as a practical work allocation: review what arrived, then complete what remains.

SourceWhat assureITR brings into the workflowWhat the preparer completes or checks
Current-year prefill JSONRecognised current-year identity, income, credit, payment and other supported information.Confirm mapped values and complete financials, adjustments, disclosures and other details absent from that prefill.
Filed ITR JSONRecognised return information in its own AY, preserved official data and supported stable-master reference for the current AY.Check restoration, review carried masters and enter the current year's actual amounts and filing particulars.
AIS/TIS PDFStatement preview, source details and comparison with the prepared ITR; selected reliable ITR-3 facts may participate in Smart AutoFill.Inspect extraction quality, differences, duplicates and unmapped information, then correct the relevant return section.
AIS/TIS JSONRecognised evidence and supported ITR-3 Smart AutoFill, including retained suggestions or pending review.Confirm the proposed facts and complete transaction classification, expenses and other information needed for the actual income working.
Form 26AS PDFTax-credit evidence and supported applicability information.Reconcile the credit rows and claim treatment; amounts not reliably established by the source/parser need completion.
Form 16 / Form 16A PDFSupporting salary/TDS certificate evidence retained with the client.Complete and reconcile the salary and TDS working. This PDF route does not automatically populate all certificate amounts.
Filed ITR form PDFRecognised basic filing information and the retained form document.Use filed JSON for full schedule restoration and review any missing filing particulars.
Filed acknowledgement PDFRecognised acknowledgement and filing particulars for the tracker.Check the extracted details and record the actual submission/e-verification position.
Intimation/order PDFFiling-related reference retained for the client.Examine the order separately; it is not posted as fresh return income.
Tax Audit JSONSupported audit evidence and business-adjustment rows.Review the year, amount, treatment and any overlap with manually entered BP adjustments.
Assure Financials backupShared financial reference for review, with supported Tax Audit processing.Reconcile and complete the ITR financial/tax schedules; an ITR reference does not mean every schedule has been populated.
Broker/fund CSV or supported ExcelRecognised capital-gain transaction/P&L rows through the dedicated import.Complete missing dates, review asset/section classification and verify cost, proceeds and expenses.
Supported Schedule FA ExcelRecognised foreign-asset table rows with import warnings and pending current-period confirmation.Review countries, dates, balances, income links and the applicable reporting-period details.
General workbook or supporting documentStorage and processing according to its recognised type and owning workflow.Read the processing result and complete any ITR particulars that were not mapped.

An uploaded file therefore gives you a clear next step. A populated field needs verification, a suggested value needs a decision, a comparison needs reconciliation, and retained evidence supports the working you complete in the appropriate section.

11. Use the Specific Excel Imports Available for the Task

assureITR and the shared assureOffice screens use Excel for several practical tasks. Choose the matching entry point and workbook structure:

  1. Bulk Add Clients (Excel): download the supplied blank template or existing-client workbook, complete client/PAN/AY and module choices, then use Upload & Preview and Apply Ready Rows. The template also supports relevant portal-password and signing-auditor particulars. Several rows can represent different AYs for the same PAN; review the row's target year before applying it.
  2. Bulk portal credentials: use Download Excel Template in the multiple-client portal panel. Its columns are Client Name, PAN / Portal ID and Password. Upload the filled XLSX with Import Credentials, then correct any rejected rows. This list prepares portal access; it is separate from the clients' tax computations.
  3. Broker/fund capital-gain import: use Import broker / fund report. For recognised XLSX broker P&L layouts, the reader looks for Symbol together with ISIN or Realized P&L and uses supported columns such as Quantity, Buy Value and Sell Value. Review the resulting rows and complete purchase/sale dates, classification and expenses. CSV and supported JSON entry are also available through this dedicated flow.
  4. Schedule FA Excel: use Import Schedule FA Excel with the supported XLSX/XLSM format. The reader recognises the Schedule FA table sheets and their expected headers, including FA A1–A4 and FA B–G. Inspect warnings where a sheet or header is not recognised, then verify the mapped rows and current-period confirmation.
  5. Other books/workings: upload supported Excel files to the Import Centre and inspect the processing result for the relevant module. A workbook can provide financial evidence or an audit mapping without becoming a complete ITR entry workbook.

There is no general promise here that any spreadsheet can be uploaded, every ITR schedule edited in it and the entire return re-imported without further review. Use the dedicated supported formats above, then complete the return through the guided workspace.

12. Review Current-Year Prefill and Filed JSON Separately

Import current-year prefill through the Import Centre, then open ITR Review & Apply. Check the import history and relevant schedules. Confirm identity, contact details, banks, income, TDS/TCS and challans against the source.

A prefill can be incomplete. For example, financial statements, current-year tax adjustments, some business particulars or transaction-level details may need separate entry. A successful prefill import is a starting point for preparation.

When importing a filed JSON, inspect Filed JSON restore status and the Official filed JSON availability check. These distinguish information loaded from the source, a schedule containing zero, and a schedule absent from the source.

The preserved official data room helps inspect filed fields by schedule. A restored schedule or a matched filed-total display confirms what was loaded; it does not establish that newly edited current-year figures are correct. Run current-year computation and review separately after making changes.

13. Bring Forward Previous-Year Details Without Repeating Previous-Year Income

Import the previous filed return into its own AY, then open the current AY. The app can use the immediate previous year as a reference and carry forward supported stable master information.

For company ITR-6, Auto-fill stable master details and Fetch previous AY master data support recurring company and auditor information. Review the carried details for changes in directors, address, shareholding, auditor or other current-year facts.

ITR-5 also provides Auto-fill from Previous Year with category choices for Basic Information, Partners/Members, Auditor Master, Business Nature and Opening Depreciation/Loss/AMT Credit. Select the required categories and click Auto-fill selected data.

These controls do not mean last year's financial statements become this year's statements. Current-year turnover, income, taxes, filing acknowledgements, report dates and UDIN must be established for the current year. Opening losses and depreciation also need review: where a carried depreciation block asks for current-year business use, confirm that fact before relying on its current-year depreciation.

14. Resolve Source Conflicts and Understand Manual Control

Several sources may contain different values for the same field. assureITR retains source information and provides protected auto-fill paths, particularly in the business/entity workspaces.

The Smart AutoFill approach gives manually edited values the strongest protection. Current-year official prefill generally takes priority over lower-priority automatic references. Previous-year information is a lower-priority starting point. The precise result depends on the field, source and import route; it is not a rule that every newest upload replaces every older value.

Look for field hints showing Manual or Auto, the source and relevant AY. Where an alternative is available, a Use … action lets you deliberately accept that suggestion. A manually confirmed zero also matters: do not replace it merely because another source contains a number.

Where an existing-AY conflict dialog is presented, distinguish Merge imported data, Replace after backup and Cancel. Replacement has a wider effect than accepting one suggestion. Review the proposed action and use the saved version if you need to return to the earlier state.

An identical shared file can be reused. A matching filename with different contents can produce a replacement/version decision. Read the import result rather than judging success from the filename alone.

15. Fetch Available Documents from the Income Tax Portal

Open Income Tax Portal in the workspace, or the connector card in the Import Centre. Confirm that the displayed PAN and AY are correct before entering credentials.

Select the documents you need. Available choices include ITR Prefill JSON, Filed ITR package, AIS/TIS, Form 26AS and applicable Tax Audit/3CEB sources. The Tax Audit choices may require a selected CA login in addition to the taxpayer context.

Use Fetch Selected for the selected categories or Fetch All Available for the broader available set. An acknowledgement-only option is available for the filed ITR request. Password-saving controls are optional; use them only according to your organisation's credential policy.

The Accept pending Tax Audit request, if required checkbox authorises a separate action in the CA worklist. Leave it unticked unless that acceptance is intended.

Read the connector's result and inspect Saved portal documents. Download availability, portal interaction and any required authentication can affect the outcome. The connector reports unavailable downloads; it should not be treated as evidence that a missing document has been created.

Fetching documents is different from submitting and verifying an ITR. Continue through preparation and review after the fetch.

16. Fetch and Import Portal Documents for Multiple Clients

For repeated client work, open Import Centre → Import from Income Tax Portal — multiple clients. This lets the office collect selected current and previous-year documents as a batch, while keeping each client's PAN, year and processing result visible.

Follow the actual batch sequence:

  1. Click Download Excel Template, fill the client name, PAN / Portal ID and password, and save the XLSX.
  2. Select that workbook and click Import Credentials. Review the saved count and rejected-row details. A blank password retains an existing saved password; a new entry needs a password.
  3. Search the saved client list and select the clients for the batch. The checkbox at the top selects the clients matching the current search.
  4. Set Current AY and Last AY — filed documents. Check both values: the previous filed-document year must be earlier than the current year.
  5. Choose the required document types: Last AY filed ITR, Last AY 3CA/3CB–3CD, Last AY 3CEB and Current AY prefilled ITR.
  6. Check that the screen shows the portal browser as available, then click Fetch & Import.
  7. Watch the client/document statuses and inspect the result for each requested document.

This batch panel's four document choices are distinct from the wider single-client connector choices. Use the appropriate single-client flow or manual upload for other required sources such as AIS/TIS and Form 26AS.

If the target working is empty and the downloaded document passes its identity/year/type checks, it can be imported into the appropriate workspace. Where work already exists, the result can be Available for review so the existing data is retained. Open Review or Retry / Review to inspect the document and proposed action.

Use Apply if Empty / Retry Import for that path. If you intentionally need to replace existing data, inspect the client, module and AY, type REPLACE, then choose Replace Existing Data. The replacement flow backs up the existing working; filed/read-only workspaces remain protected. Batch fetching therefore reduces collection effort without making every existing working an automatic overwrite target.

Use the result filter for Failed only, OTP / manual action, Not available or Pending review. Download Failure Report helps organise follow-up. Accounts that require OTP are skipped by this batch flow; download their documents manually and upload them to the Import Centre. Retry Failed handles eligible failed clients, while OTP cases need that manual route.

Cancel Pending stops pending clients; the current portal session is allowed to finish. If the connection or start response is uncertain, click Refresh and inspect Recent batches before starting again. A saved batch may still be running even when your browser lost its status connection. Only one such batch can be active for the organisation at a time.

The normal saved-client list shows password availability without revealing the password. The optional Download Saved List and Download Selected Excel exports can contain saved passwords in this build, so handle those downloaded workbooks as credential records rather than sharing them as ordinary client lists.

17. Use Assure Financials, Tally and Tax Audit Information Correctly

The Import Centre includes Assure Financials → Choose Backup. For the supported paired backup, provide the corresponding manifest.json and data.zip together. A generic Excel report is not the same as that client backup.

After the backup is processed, check the message carefully. The ITR side links financials/ITR draft material as a review-pending reference; the Tax Audit side may have its own processing result. Open the current ITR and reconcile the required financial statements and tax schedules against the final financials.

The Tally Connector card opens the connected Tally workflow for the selected context. It is not an independent promise that a Tally connection completes the ITR return, company disclosures, tax adjustments and validation in one step. Use the resulting books and financials in the supported financial/audit workflow, then review their ITR treatment.

Supported Tax Audit JSON can contribute audit particulars and BP-adjustment evidence. Review imported adjustment rows before accepting them into the current-year tax computation. Check amounts, nature, addition or deduction treatment, source year and duplication with manual adjustments.

Form 3CEB information can be linked as transfer-pricing evidence. The ITR-3 Smart AutoFill path can use reliable information to establish relevant applicability facts; transaction values are not simply posted as taxable income. The ITR, Tax Audit and Form 3CEB workspaces remain separate work products within assureOffice.

18. Handle Externally Prepared Draft JSON with Care

assureITR includes an import flow for a draft prepared outside the app. Such a draft is still subject to import checks, missing-information review and recalculation.

The dedicated AI Exchange format is available for ITR-1 and ITR-2. The unsigned official-schema draft-import route supports recognised ITR-1, ITR-2, ITR-3, ITR-5 and ITR-6 payloads in this build. Do not assume the form selector means the same draft-import support exists for ITR-4.

After importing a supported draft, inspect Draft prepared return imported, including missing information and unmapped extra fields. Complete unresolved facts from actual records. A draft carrying an amount or a formatted schedule is not evidence that the underlying fact has been verified.

Do not copy a digest from another return or try to insert signing credentials into a draft. The application's configured generation process handles its output checks. Ordinary preparation does not require editing raw JSON or enabling developer tools.

19. Navigate the Return Workspace and Save Deliberately

The workspace groups preparation into Personal info, Income sources, Deductions, Taxes paid and Review & Filing. The Return sections list changes according to the active form and relevant facts.

Use the section navigation to move directly to the required schedule. The section banner distinguishes work in progress, a ready section and a section that needs attention. Save draft, Review return, Save & continue and the previous-section control support the working sequence.

Changes trigger autosave. Still use Save draft after significant work and confirm the save status before closing or switching context. If a save fails or another tab has newer data, resolve that message before continuing. Keeping the same client and AY open in competing tabs can create avoidable save conflicts.

Calculated totals are often read-only because they come from underlying rows. Change the relevant source fields or working rows, then review the recalculated result. Do not expect a visible total or an archived filed field to be directly editable.

20. Complete Company Identity and Filing Answers for ITR-6

In company mode, assureITR displays company-specific information and hides individual-only particulars that do not belong to that company return.

Review Company identity, including company name, PAN, CIN, incorporation date, commencement date, company type and relevant status. Complete the contact and registered-address fields. Check the imported or carried Directors / key persons, Shareholding / holding details and holding/subsidiary rows.

These company person/shareholding cards edit available restored or carried rows. Do not assume a blank card has an unrestricted Add-row editor. Where required rows are absent, use an appropriate supported source containing them and review the import result; an unresolved disclosure should remain an issue to resolve before handoff.

Answer the Nature of company questions. They include company characteristics such as public-sector, banking, insurance, non-banking financial institution and unlisted-company status. Business activity codes are maintained separately under Business & profession → Activities.

In Current AY company tax basis, review domestic-company status, the tax option, relevant historical-turnover question, Ind AS and IFSC answers, and applicable option-form particulars. Use the company's actual records. A displayed option from the previous year should not be accepted without checking its current-year relevance.

Where the app offers Apply option from saved prefill, review that source and use the action to fill eligible missing details. Existing and manually protected values may remain unchanged.

Also inspect ITR-6 filing particulars. Some fields in this card are read-only summaries. Correct the underlying filing facts through the applicable available controls or supported source workflow; do not assume the summary card itself is an editor for every official question.

21. Enter Company Books, Audit and Financial Figures

For ITR-6, Business & profession contains Overview, Activities, Books & audit, Financials, Tax schedules and Other schedules.

In Activities, add actual business/professional activities and the applicable nature codes. Review trade names, descriptions, turnover/receipts and related facts.

In the books and audit fields, complete the current-year books position, audit applicability, turnover/receipt and cash-mode answers requested by the screen, auditor particulars and applicable report dates, acknowledgements and UDIN. Review section 92E details where relevant. An auditor's recurring master information and the current year's report particulars are different things.

Open Financials and compare the ITR-6 balance-sheet fields with the final statements. Review share capital, reserves, liabilities, payables, fixed assets, inventory, receivables, cash/bank and other relevant figures. Check total equity/liabilities against total assets and investigate the displayed difference.

Review the trading and P&L fields, including turnover, receipts, purchases, direct expenses, gross profit, P&L credits, employee cost, expenses, book depreciation and profit/loss. A filed-business summary shows restored source information; it is not a substitute for preparing current-year financial figures.

These guided company fields are not a promise that every line of every possible financial-statement presentation has its own normal editor. Where the source contains additional detailed schedules, inspect their preservation and generated treatment and resolve any gap before official-utility handoff.

For an Ind AS case, also check that the financial schedules in the generated working agree with the Ind AS answer. A mixed normal/Ind AS financial presentation can produce a validation issue; selecting the flag alone does not complete the required financial schedule structure.

22. Complete ITR-6 Tax Schedules and Other Business Details

Open Tax schedules after the financial base is correct. The company computation combines business adjustments, depreciation, losses, company-tax basis and MAT-related information where applicable.

Work through these areas:

  1. BP adjustments: enter or review section-wise additions and deductions. Check tax-audit sourced rows before use and avoid entering the same adjustment twice.
  2. Depreciation blocks: confirm opening values, current-year movements, asset classification and the relevant use details. Reconcile tax depreciation separately from book depreciation.
  3. Business losses: review the loss type, year and available balance. Check current-year set-off and carry-forward outputs.
  4. Schedule MAT: where the selected tax basis makes it relevant, enter book-profit adjustment information and inspect computed book profit.
  5. MAT credit rows: verify year-wise balances and current-year utilisation against the supporting records.

The live company-tax card shows its selected basis and computation outputs. Treat its review status as a preparation indicator, then check the supporting numbers and the final review messages.

Under Other schedules, complete relevant quantitative details, GST registrations/current-year turnover and ICDS adjustments. For quantitative details, use actual opening, purchase/manufacturing, consumption/sale and closing quantities. A balanced monetary balance sheet does not complete a quantity disclosure.

Use Company deductions — Schedule VI-A / 10AA for company claims. Individual 80C/80D/NPS cards are not the company deduction workflow. Enter only substantiated current-year claims and resolve any restriction flagged for the chosen company-tax option.

23. Follow the Entity-Specific ITR-5 Workflow

For an ITR-5 workspace, begin with ITR-5 identity and the correct status and sub-status. Complete formation/commencement, address and contact particulars, including the secondary-address answer.

Review Partners / members / trust persons. The correct row type depends on the entity: a partner list for a firm is not automatically the right list for a trust or another association. Complete applicable partner changes, interests in other firms, unlisted shares, trust particulars and entity disclosures shown by the selected facts.

Review current-year filing and regime answers, books and audit particulars. Controls vary with the entity/sub-status; do not transplant an individual's regime treatment into every ITR-5 entity.

The Financials area provides Balance Sheet, Manufacturing, Trading, Profit & Loss and No-books sections where relevant. Complete the appropriate structure and reconcile the statements. Work through BP adjustments, depreciation, losses, AMT/credit information and entity deductions in the relevant tabs.

Use the previous-year auto-fill categories selectively. Opening balances are starting points for review, while current-year P&L, turnover, taxes and report particulars require current-year evidence. After review, ITR-5 JSON remains subject to the utility-test handoff described below.

24. Follow the Business and Profession Workflow for ITR-3

ITR-3 brings the individual's or HUF's relevant income sections together with Business & profession. Complete applicability and activity facts, then select the correct books or no-books treatment supported by the workspace.

Financials includes Balance Sheet, Manufacturing, Trading, Profit & Loss and No-books, with further source/application groupings where relevant. The Additional ITR Questions area and guided section subtabs hold reportable questions beyond the main financial working.

Pay particular attention to business receipts suggested or populated from TDS/AIS evidence. A gross receipt reported by a deductor is not automatically the final taxable profit. The app can create a no-books starting working from supported evidence; review actual expenses, classification and net profit before relying on it.

Where No-books expense breakup is used, add meaningful particulars and amounts. The working updates the official expense total when applied or edited, and net profit recalculates. Resolve any mismatch between an earlier official expense amount and the breakup.

Review partner-in-firm receipts, depreciation, BP adjustments, losses, GST, quantitative details and applicable business-linked deductions. Some deductions require detailed undertaking particulars in addition to the claim amount. Use the offered guided detail controls and resolve the resulting information requests.

25. Use the ITR-1, ITR-2 and ITR-4 Paths According to the Facts

For ITR-1 and ITR-2, complete the displayed individual/HUF identity, filing, income, deduction, credit and verification sections. ITR-2 adds relevant wider disclosures and investment/foreign-information sections. The form decision should follow the entered facts rather than a manually assumed category.

For ITR-4, review the presumptive business/profession working and the relevant return-eligibility facts. Complete activity, receipt and income information with the necessary supporting evidence. The presence of presumptive controls does not establish that every business is eligible for that treatment.

Do not enter a business profit into Other sources simply to retain an earlier selected return form. Similarly, director status, unlisted shares, foreign facts or other relevant disclosures should be answered accurately before the applicable return is treated as resolved.

These forms share much of the assureITR review process, but they do not share every schedule or import format. Follow the controls available for the confirmed form.

26. Review Salary, House Property, Other Sources and Capital Gains

For salary, add an employer card for each relevant employer. Check the authoritative nature-of-employment choice, salary components, exemptions, supporting HRA working where used, and salary TDS. Compare against the actual certificate and current-year evidence even where prefill has supplied values.

For house property, add each relevant property. Review its use/type, ownership share, rent-related details, taxes, interest and loan information. Check the calculated income or loss. A property master can recur from an earlier year while its current-year rent and interest change.

For Other sources, review interest categories, refund interest, dividend totals and the requested period breakup, family pension where applicable, other taxable receipts and exempt-income reporting. Avoid counting the same receipt both in business income and Other sources.

For capital gains, use Import broker / fund report or Add manual sale entry. The file picker supports CSV, JSON and XLSX; the mapping workbench still needs the relevant columns and transaction facts. Review asset classification, acquisition/sale dates, consideration, cost, expenses and special schedule particulars where applicable.

Do not treat gross sale proceeds in AIS as a capital gain. Where there were no sales, No asset sold is a reviewed factual answer, not a shortcut around unexamined broker information.

27. Complete Deductions with Supporting Detail

The deduction screens change with the return and tax basis. Enter only the claims that belong to the taxpayer and current year, and review the application's allowed and restricted amounts.

Where a deduction uses detailed rows, complete those rows rather than trying to overwrite the derived summary. Examples include investment, pension, insurance, loan, donation and other supporting schedules shown for the applicable individual return.

For ITR-3, review business-linked claims separately from personal deductions. For ITR-5 and ITR-6, use their entity/company deduction cards. A displayed input field is not an independent confirmation of entitlement to claim it.

If a regime change hides a deduction working or restricts an amount, revisit the computation and ensure the chosen basis matches the client's intended and valid filing position. Preserve supporting records for claims that require additional particulars.

28. Reconcile TDS, TCS, Challans and Interest

Open TDS / TCS and review each relevant row. Check identifiers, source/category, income amounts, deducted/collected amounts and the portion claimed for the return. Cross-check the same credit across prefill, certificates and Form 26AS so that duplicate appearances do not become duplicate claims.

In Tax payments, add or verify advance-tax and self-assessment-tax challans. Dates and challan particulars matter as well as the amount. Reconcile the payment totals to the supporting payment records.

The interest working offers Calculate automatically using the relevant due date, expected/actual filing date and dated tax-payment information. Confirm those inputs. If using the available manual interest mode, retain the basis for the entered amounts and review the final computation again.

For company work, also review any due-date or audit/92E fact that influences the application working. A populated due date must still be checked for the actual return's circumstances.

29. Review Losses and Foreign Information Where Applicable

Use the loss sections to record relevant brought-forward amounts with the correct AY and loss type. Review current-year set-off, brought-forward set-off and the balance carried forward. Business losses and depreciation-related balances also appear in the business tax workflow.

For ITR-2/ITR-3, review Assets and liabilities when the applicable facts require it. Enter relevant immovable and movable assets, related liabilities and the requested current-period values. Check the totals and current-year confirmation. Also complete director and unlisted-equity disclosures in Special return options and disclosures where relevant, including opening, acquisition, transfer and closing information.

Where Foreign assets and income is available, the screen provides Schedule FA, FSI, TR, Currency working, Form 67 and Reconciliation tabs. Follow the reporting period displayed for the current AY. Do not substitute the financial-year closing balance for a differently requested reporting-period amount without checking the requirement.

Use Import Schedule FA Excel for the supported XLSX/XLSM working, then review mapped entries. Complete foreign income in its appropriate income head as well as the relevant foreign-information schedule. The TR output derives from FSI rather than being a second independent place to enter the same relief.

The Form 67 area is an internal tracker. Marking it Filed does not submit Form 67. Record the actual supporting status and particulars, review the reconciliation and confirm the current reporting-period review only after checking the underlying information.

30. Complete Bank and Verification Details

Open Bank and verification. Check the answer about an Indian bank account and add the relevant account details. Confirm account numbers, IFSC and the applicable refund selection against the client's actual records.

Complete verification name, PAN, place and the capacity shown for the active return. ITR-5 provides an entity-specific capacity list, including applicable partner, officer, trustee and representative choices. For each form, check the actual authorised person and the resulting verification particulars.

For company returns, inspect the output's verification particulars carefully. Do not accept a default capacity, name or place merely because generation succeeds. If the required particulars cannot be represented correctly through the available controls and supported source flow, resolve that issue before filing.

If a Tax Return Preparer section is relevant, complete its particulars. Otherwise do not insert arbitrary details merely to fill an optional card.

These particulars are often small compared with the financial schedules, but missing or inconsistent verification and bank information can prevent a usable output.

31. Work Through AIS/TIS Review

Open AIS/TIS review after importing the statement. If the preview is not loaded, use Load from Import Centre. A protected PDF may need to be re-uploaded with its password if the stored copy cannot be parsed automatically.

Review the document identity and extraction quality: pages read, summary categories, annexure rows, mapped categories, unmapped categories and unparsed content. A preview with missing pages or unexplained unparsed information requires further checking.

The comparison lists statement amounts, prepared ITR amounts, differences and statuses such as Matched, Difference found, Missing in ITR, Review required, Review only and Unmapped. Use Go to section to inspect or correct the related return section.

Open source-wise details and summary-to-annexure reconciliation where available. Some transactions are information for review rather than income to be added directly. Resolve duplication, timing and classification with the underlying records.

Use Mark reviewed only after examining the category. It records your review; it does not by itself change the prepared income, explain an unresolved difference or make an incorrect return correct.

32. Resolve Information Requests and Refresh the Computation

Click Review return to open Computation, review and JSON. Check the confirmed return form and the live computation totals, including relevant income, deductions, tax, interest, credits, refund or payable amount.

The Information required panel translates many issues into practical actions. Open the listed section, complete the missing fact or correction, save, then return to review. Navigation can take you to the related panel or field, including business subtabs where supported.

Work through issues in a useful order: identity/form conflicts first, then current-year filing facts, financial and income reconciliation, tax schedules, credits, banks and verification. A total error can originate in an underlying row; changing an unrelated summary number is unlikely to solve it.

Refresh review after imports, form changes, regime changes or material edits. Check the updated calculation rather than relying on an earlier ready banner. Read a generation error separately if the output is blocked: missing source data, a schema requirement, permission, signing configuration and a release gate are different conditions.

Local validation checks supported business rules, reconciliation and return structure. It does not guarantee that every official validation, all source facts or a later portal acceptance has been established.

33. Download the Appropriate Computation and PDF

Under Professional Computation of Income, choose:

  • Detailed with annexures or Summary computation.
  • Full office copy or Masked client copy.
  • Draft computation or Final computation.

Use Preview Professional Computation, inspect the figures and presentation, then choose Download Professional PDF or Download Computation Word. The Word output is useful for office review; if the return figures change, regenerate the report from the corrected workspace.

For ITR-3, ITR-5 and ITR-6, the review screen also offers a separate Full ITR Form PDF, with preview and download controls labelled for the active form. This is a return-style review copy drawn from the workspace/imported data. It is separate from the professional computation and is not a filed acknowledgement.

Selecting “Final computation” is a report-status choice. It does not certify that an official utility accepted the JSON or that submission and verification have occurred. Check masks before sharing a client copy and retain the full office working according to your practice's process.

34. Generate JSON and Complete the Official Handoff

Once the required information is resolved, save the draft and click Generate & download JSON. The app determines the applicable return, calculates, validates and either downloads the available output or explains why generation is blocked.

For ITR-1, ITR-2 and ITR-4, generation depends on the applicable local checks and the configured signing service. If a signing/configuration message appears, the administrator should resolve it. A user should not try to manufacture credentials or alter the JSON to suppress the error.

For ITR-3, ITR-5 and ITR-6, the normal generated file is a utility-test output in this build. Its messages identify AY 2026-27 targets: ITR-3 Common Offline Utility 1.2.3 or Excel Utility 1.2, ITR-5 Excel Utility 1.3 and ITR-6 Excel Utility 1.0. Check compatibility with the official utility actually used for the case.

Follow this sequence for those outputs:

  1. Retain the exact generated file.
  2. Import it into the appropriate official utility for the same form and AY.
  3. Review the utility's import and validation result.
  4. Resolve rejected particulars or differences in the appropriate preparation working.
  5. Generate and check a new file if the workspace changes.
  6. Complete the applicable official submission process only using the reviewed, accepted working/output required by that process.
  7. Retain the actual filing evidence after submission and verification.

The ITR-3/5/6 download must not be described as already portal-ready solely because assureITR generated it. Direct final/portal readiness remains gated in this build; an official-utility test is necessary and does not itself override a closed application release gate. Hidden developer/recovery tools are not a normal-user bypass for missing mandatory information or official acceptance.

35. Record Actual Filing and Prepare Revisions Properly

After the official filing action, return to Filing Status & Fees. This is an internal tracker; its fields are not inserted as tax-return schedule values merely because they are recorded here.

Use the appropriate status, such as Submitted - E-verification pending or Filed - E-verified, based on actual events. Record the acknowledgement number, filing date, refund details and applicable verification information. Fees and collection status can also be maintained for office tracking.

Upload Filed acknowledgement PDF and Filed portal JSON where available. The acknowledgement parser can populate recognised tracker particulars. The filed-JSON comparison helps identify differences between the filed output and the current generated figures.

Submitted/filed statuses lock editing of the AY. If correction is required, Prepare Revised ITR is available from a submitted/filed state with the original acknowledgement recorded. Confirm the action; the app preserves the original filing details and sets up revised-return editing. Review the revised return, generate its appropriate output and complete the separate official process.

The ITR-U option indicates a separate updated-return workflow. It is not part of the normal AY 2026-27 JSON flow described here.

36. Maintain Backups, Versions and Shared Client Data

A report PDF or generated ITR JSON is not a complete assureOffice client backup. It does not carry the entire editable workspace, all assessment years and shared module records.

Use Backup or Backup client for the complete client ZIP. Select multiple clients and use Backup selected where required. The shared backup can contain the client's available common data, documents and ITR/Tax Audit/3CEB module information.

For restoration, use Import backup and inspect the preview. A complete ZIP restore identifies the client and included modules. Matching data in those modules can be replaced; the flow saves a recovery ZIP first. Confirm the intended PAN and scope before proceeding.

ITR backup formats and complete suite ZIPs have different scopes. Where the Assessment years & versions and Full-client restore points controls are available, use an AY version for that year's workspace and a full-client restore point for the broader client snapshot. Read the confirmation: the restore scope matters more than the word “backup.”

Deleting a client is different from removing a row from a schedule or deleting one saved version. In the protected client deletion dialog, choose Download Backup, retain the ZIP, type DELETE, and use Delete Client only after confirming the selected identity and scope. Shared-client deletion can affect more than the visible ITR screen. Role permissions and access to the relevant years can restrict backup or deletion.

37. Diagnose Common Preparation Problems

If a document appears stored but values are blank, first check its type and application status. Form 16 PDFs, financial references and general documents do not all have the same direct mapping behaviour as a recognised current prefill JSON.

If the wrong year appears, stop and inspect the detected AY, workspace header and document identity. Do not repair a year mismatch by manually relabelling unrelated current-year figures. Use the correct source and, where necessary, the appropriate backup or version.

If an automatic value does not replace a manual amount, inspect its source hint or pending suggestion. Manual protection may be working as intended. Deliberately accept the alternative only after review.

If a company financial total differs, check source grouping, financial figures, duplicated adjustments, book versus tax depreciation and the relationship between P&L and BP. If a credit differs, reconcile the underlying TDS/TCS/challan rows and their claim treatment.

If download is blocked, read the exact reason. An unavailable engine, historical AY, pending information, role restriction, signing configuration or utility-test release condition requires a different response. Repeatedly clicking Generate does not resolve those conditions.

38. A Complete Company ITR-6 Working Example

Consider a company for which the office already has the previous filed ITR-6 JSON, current prefill, final financials, audit information and tax-payment records.

First, open the existing PAN client in assureOffice and select AY 2026-27. Resolve the return-applicability questions. Import the previous filed JSON into its detected earlier AY and the current prefill into the current AY.

Next, review the import results and use the supported previous-master controls. Verify company identity, address, directors, shareholding and auditor master. Complete the current-year tax basis and audit particulars, including the actual option and report records.

Bring the financial backup or supporting statements into the Import Centre. Check their status and references, then reconcile current-year balance-sheet and P&L figures in assureITR. Complete activity information, BP adjustments, tax depreciation, relevant loss balances, MAT/credit working and other schedules.

Review company deductions, other income, capital gains and foreign information wherever applicable. Reconcile TDS/TCS and dated challans. Complete bank and verification details, compare AIS/TIS and resolve each Information required item.

Preview the professional computation and Full ITR-6 PDF. Generate the utility-test JSON only after the app checks permit it. Test that exact file in the official ITR-6 utility, resolve any issue and complete the applicable official filing process. Finally, import the actual acknowledgement/filed JSON, update the tracker and download a complete client backup.

This is the practical role of assureITR at assureoffice.in: one organised preparation workspace, with explicit review points from source collection through filing evidence.

39. Frequently Asked Questions

39.1. Can I start without importing any document?

Yes. Create the client manually, resolve the applicable return and enter the supported fields. Imports can reduce repeated entry, but they are not compulsory for every workspace.

39.2. Is PAN compulsory when creating a client?

A PAN-pending draft can be created. Resolve the correct PAN before relying on document linkage or preparing the return for the official process.

39.3. Should I create a new client for each assessment year?

Use the same PAN client and add the required AY workspace. The client's years maintain separate return data.

39.4. Which assessment year can generate fresh JSON?

The current build enables fresh generation for AY 2026-27. Historical years support reference/correction/carry-forward and retrieval of available filed JSON.

39.5. Does creating a company automatically complete ITR-6 applicability?

No. Company identity is one input. Complete the applicable filing questions and resolve the form decision shown by assureITR.

39.6. Does assureITR support ITR-7?

It can identify an ITR-7 requirement, but the ITR-7 preparation/generation engine is unavailable in this build.

39.7. Can I upload several documents together?

Yes, the Import Centre accepts multiple supported files. Review each result because detection, mapping and application can differ between files.

39.8. What if the application cannot detect the AY?

Use the AY confirmation prompt and verify the year from the document. Do not choose the current AY merely to complete the upload.

39.9. What happens with a password-protected PDF?

Where supported, the import flow asks for its password. If a stored AIS/TIS PDF cannot be opened automatically, re-upload it with the password for review.

39.10. Will a Form 16 PDF automatically complete salary and TDS?

No. The shared PDF route retains Form 16/16A as evidence. Verify and complete the salary and TDS working using actual current-year information.

39.11. Can a filed ITR PDF restore every schedule?

No. Recognised filing details can be linked, but full schedule restoration depends on the filed JSON route, not the form PDF alone.

39.12. Is prefill enough to finish a company return?

No. Review company particulars, financial statements, tax adjustments, current audit information, credits and all applicable schedules beyond what the prefill contains.

39.13. Does importing last year's return copy last year's income into this year?

The supported carry-forward approach distinguishes stable master/opening information from current-year amounts. Review the current AY and enter its actual financial and tax facts.

39.14. Can I choose which previous-year data to bring forward for ITR-5?

Yes. Its previous-year auto-fill card provides category choices, including basic information, partners/members, auditor, business nature and relevant opening balances.

39.15. Why did an imported amount not replace my manual value?

The applicable import/auto-fill path may protect manual work or retain a conflict as a suggestion. Inspect its source and use the offered alternative only after checking it.

39.16. Are all imports governed by one identical overwrite rule?

No. Automatic common imports, controlled Smart AutoFill, merge and explicit replacement have different effects. Read the actual action and conflict report.

39.17. Will an Assure Financials backup complete the ITR automatically?

No. The supported backup is stored and linked for review, with its own Tax Audit processing where applicable. Reconcile the actual ITR schedules before proceeding.

39.18. Which files should I use for the paired financial backup?

Use the corresponding manifest.json and data.zip from the same Assure Financials backup. A report workbook or unrelated ZIP is not an equivalent pair.

39.19. Does the Tally Connector directly file the return?

No. It opens the connected data workflow. Financial preparation, tax treatment, ITR review and official filing remain separate steps.

39.20. Can Tax Audit data help the ITR working?

Yes. Supported sources can contribute audit evidence and business-adjustment rows. Review their year, amount, tax treatment and duplication before relying on them.

39.21. Can I use an externally prepared AI JSON?

Use the supported draft-import formats. AI Exchange is for ITR-1/2; recognised unsigned official-schema drafts support ITR-1/2/3/5/6. Complete missing-information review and recalculation after import.

39.22. Can I edit company details after auto-fill?

Yes, the guided company fields provide manual control and source suggestions. Some summary and computed fields are read-only, so correct their underlying working instead.

39.23. Is a company's book profit the same as its taxable business income?

Do not assume they match. Review the BP adjustments, depreciation, losses and other relevant tax schedules that connect the financial statements to the return computation.

39.24. Can I use individual deduction cards for a company?

Use the ITR-6 company deduction area. The company workflow has its own claims and tax-basis restrictions and hides individual deduction cards.

39.25. What should I review in an ITR-3 no-books working?

Check receipts, their business/professional classification, actual expenses and calculated profit. An evidence-based starting receipt amount is not a reviewed final profit.

39.26. Can I import broker transactions?

Yes, use Import broker / fund report with supported CSV, JSON or XLSX input. Review mapping and transaction classification before relying on the capital-gain computation.

39.27. Does Mark reviewed in AIS/TIS change my income?

No. It records the category review. Correct the relevant income section separately where the evidence requires a change.

39.28. Does AIS show only income that must be added?

No. The comparison includes review-only and unmapped information. Examine the actual transaction, duplication and classification before deciding its return treatment.

39.29. Can interest be calculated automatically?

The app provides automatic interest working using relevant dates, credits and dated payments. Check those inputs and review the resulting amounts.

39.30. Does the Form 67 tracker submit Form 67?

No. It records internal compliance information. Enter the actual status after completing the separate applicable process.

39.31. How do I find the field responsible for a review error?

Use the action in Information required or the relevant issue card. Supported navigation opens the related panel, subtab or field for correction.

39.32. Does a ready section mean the whole return is ready?

No. Review all applicable sections, the overall computation and the final information requests after the latest changes.

39.33. What is the difference between the computation PDF and Full ITR PDF?

The computation explains income and tax in an office/client report. The available Full ITR-3/5/6 PDF follows the return structure for review. Neither is a filed acknowledgement.

39.34. Can I download the computation in Word?

Yes. Use Download Computation Word in the Professional Computation of Income card. Regenerate it if the underlying return changes.

39.35. Are ITR-3, ITR-5 and ITR-6 downloads directly portal-ready?

This build generates utility-test outputs for those forms. Test the exact file in the appropriate official utility and complete the required official workflow before treating the return as filed.

39.36. Does selecting Final computation prove filing is complete?

No. It changes the report status. Filing completion depends on the actual official submission and verification evidence.

39.37. Why is editing locked after I update filing status?

Submitted/filed statuses protect the AY from ordinary editing. Use the appropriate revised-return flow when a filed return requires correction.

39.38. Can I prepare a revised return from the filed working?

The Prepare Revised ITR action preserves original acknowledgement details and enables revised-return editing from the appropriate locked state. Review and complete the official revised filing separately.

39.39. Is the generated ITR JSON a full client backup?

No. Use the complete client backup ZIP for editable workspace, year and available shared-module records. Keep reports and filing JSON as separate outputs.

39.40. What should we check if a colleague cannot import or generate?

Confirm the accepted firm relationship, allowed client and correct workspace. Normal sub-user access includes the usual work actions for assigned clients; the current settings screen has no separate import/approve switch. Also read the action's own message for missing information, a locked return, unsupported AY or other generation requirements.

39.41. What should I do after completing the return in assureITR?

Retain the reviewed computation, complete the official utility/filing steps applicable to the form, import the actual filed evidence, update the tracker and save a complete client backup. This keeps the assureOffice workspace at assureoffice.in aligned with the work actually completed.

39.42. Can I fetch portal documents for several clients together?

Yes. Use the Import Centre's multiple-client portal panel, import credentials, select clients and the two AYs, choose the four supported document categories and click Fetch & Import. Review each result; OTP cases need manual download/upload and existing filled workings can remain pending review.

39.43. How does a colleague join our assureOffice workspace?

The main admin saves their email and client access under User Settings → Manage sub-users. The colleague registers/logs in with that email and uses Accept & work as sub-user in their User Settings. They then open an allowed client and the correct AY.

39.44. Can I continue an ITR from another computer?

Yes, use a suitable browser to sign in to the same hosted workspace and open the same saved client and AY. Save before switching, then reopen or refresh the working. Coordinate with other editors rather than expecting simultaneous edits to merge automatically.

39.45. Can I export the whole ITR to a working Excel and import every schedule back?

This guide does not claim a universal ITR Excel roundtrip. Use the specific supported Excel flows for bulk onboarding, portal credentials, recognised broker reports and Schedule FA, plus the relevant Import Centre document processing. Complete and review the remaining return details in assureITR.
